I think cringe-inducing was the wrong expression, maybe just "poppy"... ;)
But I wholeheartedly agree with you re: Spirit Of Eden. The aforementioned
lead single still makes my spine tingle every time.

I haven't heard Hollis solo album, but will track it down

Eh, when we're talking history of any electronic related music it's all
relevant! I'd personally encourage it (sticking with the broad "all things
in moderation" theory, of course... ;)

In fact, I personally can't remember the last time any admin had a problem
with quality music related discussion, regardless of subgenre... :)
