Re: cd's... Talk Talk
From: Primal Records Weblog Hmm. I hesitate to ask which of their stuff you consider cringe-inducing because I am of the opinion that Talk Talk were one of the most important groups of my time. The synthpop era was good, as it was, but their last 2 records--"Spirit Of Eden" and "Laughing Stock"--were literally groundbreaking, fusing folk, jazz, ambient, and world music into something wholly unique, and to this day, largely unprecedented. Mark Hollis continues in this tradition with a solo album that was released a couple of years ago. I know it's not tech-house. Really, I know. But I always feel compelled to sing the praises of Talk Talk. If it makes it any better, Blu Mar Ten released an EP called "Home Videos" with a brillliant Terry Lee Brown Jr. remix that sampled Mark Hollis. :) --Norman www.primalrecords.com On 5/5/04 3:18 PM, "Phil Williams" <phil@...> wrote: >> Damn! >> You lot made me actually check... >> >> Talk Talk - Spirit of Eden > > > Holey shizen...
